We are one of Stroud’s principal travel clinics providing comprehensive medical advice for overseas travel.
The Travel Clinic is a private clinic based at Beeches Green Surgery, Stroud, GL5 4BH.
Services offered
This is a non-NHS clinic available to people both registered and not registered at Beeches Green Surgery.
The aims of this service is to:
- To promote safe travel
- To assess risk
- To provide appropriate information
- To provide appropriate anti-malarial advice, including bite protection, and drugs for prevention of malaria
- To provide appropriate vaccination
- To provide information about traveller’s diarrhoea
- To provide information and appropriate vaccinations for Yellow Fever
The clinic is particularly appropriate for complicated trips i.e. visiting more than one country, gap year students, school groups and business/work related trips.

Other vaccinations
If you are not eligible to have an NHS vaccination we can offer a selection of Vaccinations on a private basis.
Please note that due to our contractual agreements with the NHS we are unable to offer Varivax to patients registered at Beeches Green Surgery. Patients registered at other practices are eligible.
Varivax (Chickenpox)
Chickenpox is a very common illness caused by the varicella-zoster virus. The chickenpox vaccine offers effective protection for patients who have not had chickenpox before.
It is available to children from 12 months up to the age of 65. It consists of two injections given at least 28 days apart.
Flu and COVID Vaccinations
You can get Flu and COVID vaccinations on the NHS if you:
– Are aged 65 or over
– Live in a Care Home for Older Adults
– Are Pregnant
– Have certain health conditions
You can get the Flu vaccine on the NHS if you:
– Live in any other type of Care Home
– Live with someone who has a weakened immune system.
If you are not eligible for the Flu and/or COVID vaccines but would still like to have them, you can have these privately. Please see our pricelist below and enquire by calling reception.
